Magpie Studio: Royal Mail Yearpack 2012
Magpie Studio have updated with a recently completed project for Royal Mail. As they explain:
'The Royal Mail Yearpack is the (no less talented) little brother of the Yearbook.
A piece which houses the years special stamp issues in one collectors
pack. 2012 was a big year for the UK and we wanted to create a piece
which celebrated the diversity of our tiny island. Our solution was to decorate a Royal Mail pillarbox
with imagery from the disparate stamp issues; bringing all the stamp
subjects together in one image. We commissioned illustrator James Taylor.
who has a very British 'Pop Art' aesthetic and Victorian Decoupage
approach. The result is a visual delight that allows the reader to
discover new depths with every read.'
Pillarbox photography by John Ross. Words by Jim Davies.
